Frequently Asked Questions
Paint Bucket is free to download and play. The game includes ads that appear between levels — never during active gameplay. We also offer in-app purchases (consumable items such as coins or energy) that can enhance your experience. At this time, there is no separate "ad-free" purchase option, but all core game content is fully accessible without spending anything.
Paint Bucket does not require an account or login, which means your progress is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, switch to a new device, or reset your phone, your progress unfortunately cannot be recovered. We recommend keeping the app installed to preserve your save data. We understand this is a limitation and are considering cloud-save options for a future update.
This is intentional — and it's what makes Paint Bucket unique. Instead of simple RGB color averaging, the game uses a real pigment physics model (Kubelka-Munk theory) that simulates how actual paint absorbs and scatters light. This means mixing red and green won't produce a bright yellow the way you might expect on a screen — it produces a darker, muddier tone, just like real paint would. Embrace the physics: the puzzle is learning to predict how real pigments interact.
We appreciate bug reports — they directly help us improve the game. Please email us at info@onurion.com with the subject line "Bug Report – Paint Bucket". Include as much detail as you can: which game mode you were playing, what happened, and your device model and iOS version. Screenshots or screen recordings are very helpful. We read every report and aim to respond within 2–3 business days.
Paint Bucket is compatible with modern iOS devices running a recent version of iOS. For the best experience, we recommend keeping your device updated to the latest iOS release available for your hardware. If you encounter performance issues on an older device, please let us know at info@onurion.com — we're continuously working to broaden compatibility.
Paint Bucket includes five distinct modes:
1. Classic Mix — Drop precise amounts of paint to match a target color. 2. Guess the Color — Watch drops mix, then pick the resulting color from four options. 3. Color Architect — Race against the clock to hit multiple target colors using a shared palette. 4. Odd One Out — Spot the tile with a subtly different hue among nearly identical colors. 5. Capture the Color — Memorize a shown color, then recreate it from memory using hue, saturation, and brightness sliders.
